Passion for Worship
by Baruch Worship on February 24th, 2015

A couple who expects the birth of their first child sometimes goes through great lengths to determine the name of their little new miracle. They would buy books and do some intense research projects to define the meanings of possible names. No parent wants their child’s name to be associated with death and violence, but instead we look for a name that can speak life and represents a successful future. Every time they call out the name of their child they want to declare a prosperous blessing over them.

We know from Scripture that God is no different when it comes to names and their meaning. There is great emphasis placed on the meanings of names throughout the entire Bible. We read in Matthew 1:21 that Mary “will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” The name of Jesus, the Son of God, means “God saves”. God gave a special name to His Son that would define Jesus’ purpose here on earth. Now please allow me to ask a question that I hope will ignite something within your Spirit. What if God gave us a special name, just as He gave His Son, so that we can fulfill a special purpose He designed us for?

If by now you do not know, our congregation is known as Baruch Worship Centre. God reveals our purpose through the name He calls us. Every time someone calls us on our name, Baruch Worship Centre, they are calling to life our purpose and our task that was Divinely assigned unto us. If this is stil a bit blurry, allow me to enlighten your spiritual eyes.

The word Baruch is defined as “blessed”. If we then translate the name given to our congregation it would read “Blessed Worship Centre”. Our purpose and calling for a time such as this is to develop and grow a heartbeat of worship. For many years we attempted to fulfill man-made criteria. We went through the traditions and rituals and attempted to do that which “a normal church would do”. Let me awaken something in your heart today, Baruch Worship Centre has never been called to be a “normal” church. We have not been called to follow man-made equations and plans. We have been called to be a congregation of Blessed Worship that will ignite a heartbeat within our community that will have immeasurable impact. The moment we begin to follow God’s plan for us, we will begin to walk in power. Acts 1:8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We have started a new movement in our congregation that will focus solemnly on the development of our worship. It is neither governed nor influenced from any man generated ideology. The Spirit of God has awakened this within us and we are following His guidance concerning this matter. If anyone is interested in sharing their heart of worship, whether it is musical ability, song writing, poems, art, spiritual dance, or singing, please make sure that you become involved in this heartbeat of Baruch Worship Centre. Anyone and everyone are welcome to join us on every Thursday evening from 19:00 until 20:00.Young and old, experienced and inexperienced; it does not matter, just make sure that you respond to the call of the Father on your life.
